My Name is Mudd
Adventuring work comes in all shapes and.... smells. The young adventurer imagines nothing but dragons, loot, and glory. But the reality is often cold mud, heat-less fires, and whatever passes for coffee in the Empire’s outer provinces. In these southern Empire lands that boarder close to the mountain ranges separating the Empire from North Necrovahn, most folks just chew red weed.
This time, the job’s from an Imperial Governor, Kindle Brack, who holds a high seat for a small city named "Bracks Borough". He sits before you, powdered, perfumed, and perched so high above the people in a town named after himself, he hides his ambitions of becoming an outer provincial monarch as well as a Paladin in full plate armor.
His concern? A rash of grave robbings at the local cemetery. Bodies missing, family heirlooms gone. Common rabble thieves, robbing the earth of common rabble peasants, best handled by common rabble adventurers like you. The Knights of the Empire can't be bothered with such unpleasant things, but he has coin and you need work.
Duty, curiosity, or sheer bad luck has brought you to the gates of the town of Bracks Borough
Grab a lantern, hold your nose, and tread carefully.
Because tonight, you hope empty graves are ALL you find.

Grave Concerns Part 1

Kaelith MoonShard, Half Elf Fighter

Vaelith Mortelle, Human Wizard, Necromancer

Cryos Dragonstone, Twilight Cleric

Tsuji Toshiko, Drunken Master Monk

Nythra solviel, Elven Fighter

Pre-Gaming before heading to the Graveyard
Facing off with Grave Robbers and their captain

It didn't help that these grave robbers had a cannon.

The drunken master did drunkenly knock out a bandit or two, mostly on accident, and with many apologies.

Rolling a Nat 1 when trying to "Catch" the cannonball......... it didn't work
The river near the graveyard held more than just freezing cold waters.....

It also held a "Sponster" to deal with, bought by a member of the community

The graves were empty, the caskets ripped open from the outside, but not by human hands or tools, and the grave digger was found with a number of holes in him, but from what, our heroes couldn't tell.
Tune in for Part 2 after which this blog will be updated with new images!
Welcome back! We have a few more images of the adventure in Grave Concrns Part 2 to follow along with the adventures heard,
Grave Concerns Part 2
Our heroes made their way through the riddles of the door, and into the catacombs where the "Upperclass" of the borough are laid to rest.
There were some disagreements about what should be done with some of the treasured offerings on an alter to the dead.
With some investigating, the heroes realized there was something more sinister deeper within the catacombs, and they would need to dig deeper through the walls to reach the evil deeper within...
Add in a little expert digging... just to find....
It ended up being zombies, flaming skeletons, and a lot of WORMS. Greeeeat.
Worms falling from the earthen ceiling
Worms trying to get under your skin...
The heroes fought fiercely, bravely, slaying zombies and skeletons and the fleshy worm corpse,
with a little help from the party cleric and their spirit guardians..... (grumbles in dungeon-master-cant)
The party of heroes were applauded by a new figure, seemingly responsible for all this nastiness in the catacombs and graveyard......an agent of the Crippled God. But these heroes didn't know her name.
The Tiefling figure disappeared, leaving our heroes to collect the evidence of their deeds, the tombs, graveyard, and the rest laid to rest at last.
The Gravedigger was returned to town, though the party couldn't afford to resurrect him, they did get paid. Some choosing to donate their gold earnings toward the Gravedigger they found slain.
What mess will these heroes get into next time?
